Rochelle Urban
Overview
Rochelle Urban is the Program Manager at Lucas Education Research where she works closely with our research and practitioner partners to increase the access of high-quality learning experiences for students. Rochelle began her career as a scientist, but has been working in STEM education for the last decade. Previously, Rochelle oversaw STEM outreach programs for K-12 schools at the Viterbi School of Engineering at USC, partnering with schools and bringing rich science and engineering to students across Los Angeles. She has also worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs in their Joint BioEnergy Institute supporting and developing their education outreach strategy, and at the UC Berkeley Lawrence Hall of Science Learning Design Group, where she worked on the elementary Amplify Science curriculum. Rochelle spent a number of years at the California Academy of Sciences designing, delivering, and coordinating field trips and virtual programs. Rochelle earned her PhD in neuroscience at the University of California, San Francisco and was a Mirzayan Science Policy Fellow with the Board on Science Education at the National Academies.
